Weekly Update

Notes For Parents:

  • I am so proud of our 4th grade class for all their hard work during MSTEP the last two weeks! We are all very excited to be finished! What an accomplishment.
  • If your child has library books or classroom books that they are no longer reading, please start sending those back to school.

Weekly Highlights:

Math: We finished the Math MSTEP! We finished up our Geometry Unit and tested our knowledge. We will be finishing up our final unit in the next couple of weeks as we learn about measurement.

We went outside to practice drawing different shapes and angles. Then we had a competition girls vs. boys to make shapes that I called out.

Writing: This week we began writing informational texts. We started the week by looking at mentor texts and learning about text features. Students created a Flipgrid video explaining the text features they found. Check out their videos here. We also spent time generating topics in which we could create 4-5 subtopics that we could write about. Students are very excited to share their knowledge.

Reading: This week we began reading biographies about people who interest us. We were able to check out books at the library and explore Epic for a huge selection of biography picture books.
