    • Parents and volunteers will not be able to attend.  (We will miss you!)
    • Snacks can be sent in, but need to be store bought and individually packaged.
    • Games, crafts, and snacks need to be sent in 24 hours in advance (or more).
  • This week I will be sending a sign-up to be able to donate supplies/snacks to our fall party!

Weekly Highlights:

Math: This week we started a new unit of math focusing on multiplication. We used arrays to find the areas of multiplication problems and looked at patterns in place value to solve problems. We learned how to multiply two digit numbers by 1 digit numbers using a math drawing to separate the 2-digit numbers. Lastly, we worked on solving multiplication word problems with a fun game called Pay Day!:

Kayler and Tom won Pay Day!

Writing: We started our second personal narratives this week! My, oh, my, I am impressed with what these smart writers have been able to come up with and create! Such an improvement from their first narratives. We focused on adding sensory details, descriptions, and concrete words and phrases to make our writing look more like the stories we read in books.

Reading: This week finished out class read aloud, Tiger Rising. Our main character in the story, Rob, creates wood carvings so, we created our own carvings out of soap that reflected an important object from our book.
