Week 7 Highlights!

CELEBRATIONS

Star Student – We had five (star students) in our classroom this week. Each student shared an “All About Me” page and was the line leader! 

Quote of the Week – Be yourself because everyone else is already taken.

Kellen was awarded this quote for always being true to himself and always doing the right thing!

15 Star Reward – We did it! Our amazing class of first graders earned 15 stars! We celebrated by voting on our reward, and the class chose to play on the ⅘ playground! ❤️

 

Our Learning:

Reading: This week we have been working on comprehending our books. We have also been working on strengthening our “Good Habits” while reading independently and with our reading partners. 

Word Study: Your children had a special “graduation” from their word study which included Word Study diplomas! 

Writing: We revised and edited our favorite stories this week! We are putting finishing touches on them to share them with the whole class this week.. 

Math:  We continued practicing the counting on strategy. We began underlining the larger number and starting there to be more efficient when solving addition equations.
