Week 4 Highlights

Notes for Parents:

  • Walkathon paperwork came home with your child last week Monday. This is our ONLY fundraiser of the year, and it is HUGE for our PTC! Please return these fundraisers in your child’s blue folder before the Walkathon on September 27!
  • Our Walkathon is at this Friday at 9:45 – 10:30 K, 1,2,3 (start right after front loop SPIRIT FANS)! Parents are welcome to walk with you awesome kiddos!
  • Interested in volunteering in our classroom this semester ( I have made a few changes from last week so please check it out!) We would love your help! Follow this link to see available slots and to sign-up.
  • If your child participates in a fall sport, please email me their schedule! I LOVE supporting our first graders outside of school, too. ❤️
  • Make sure you check out the note sent home with your child about Take Home Books!
  • Starting Friday, October 4 we will have a Mystery Reader. This will be a parent who will surprise the class by coming in on Friday at 12:30-12:50 to read a favorite story to the class! Check out this link to sign up to be a Mystery Reader throughout the school year (Please only sign up once thus far to make sure all parents who would like to come in and read can do so)!

CELEBRATIONS

Star Student – We had five (star students) in our classroom this week. Each student shared an “All About Me” page and was the line leader!

Quote of the Week – Each week, our class learns about a new quote and spends the whole week trying to embody that quote. At the end of the week, Miss Garrison awards a friend from our class who really shined with that quote’s energy from throughout the week. This week’s quote went to AVA for being such a great listener who is always ready to learn!

10 Star Reward – We did it! Our amazing class of first graders earned 10 stars! We celebrated by voting on our reward, and the class chose to have a pajama day! ❤️

Tuesday was Constitution Day! We celebrated by working on Constitution story books!

Special Friday! Not only did we have a half day and get to wear pajama’s to school! We also got to spend time with our awesome 4th grade buddies on Friday. We even had a special guest visit our room, a Hudsonville Varsity Football player! It was pretty amazing!
